We are a AU wizarding school site based very loosely on Harry Potter. We allow only original characters but the houses you may be sorted into are the same. Here we believe that with a little bit of magic and charm anyone can make it as a wizard so why not see what might await you?
Poppy did not have time to be strange or indulgently resentful. There was enough of that in her family so she was forgiving and she was happy that she was built in such a way. So she had decided to invite Kay over to play "Monopoly" with her and Jess.
With the weather getting cold she was not one for going outside much anyhow. Her only reluctance was that Jessica had been acting a tad strange but hopefully it would not show too much.
Kay had meant to answer the letter he'd gotten from Poppy, but well... He had tried put as soon as he'd wrote words, he didn't like it and tossed the paper away which had made him upset and suddenly his cat had been there and it had distracted him enough to make him forget about it. He was just bad at keeping in touch with people when he didn't see them regularly. But he was reminded of what he had wanted to do, when he got another note from Poppy. Luckily this time, it was about a meeting at her home and he didn't forget about it.
But when he turned up at the door step, he was a little hesistant. It was sad, he had always had friends but somehow he'd never been invited to other people's home? Possibly because they'd been scared that he'd break things which didn't seem unlikely. He took a breath and rang the door bell, tapping on the ground with his toes as he waited for the door to open.
'Stop what you are doing right now. I am about to open this door eventually and we need friends Jess. We need friends because without friends we will go crazy. So whatever you are thinking, stop it right now okay. Also everyone loves Monopoly, everyone!'
Oh gee this was going to go bad she just felt it. None the less she opened the door. Sometimes it sucked being the only normal one in the family.
Jessica cocked an eyebrow at her sister. She did not feel like she was doing anything but who was she to judge really. She smiled as the door opened and Kay stood there.
Jess "Come on in, it is okay."
She might be a sheep leading a lamb to the slaughter but she highly doubted it. Though apparently they did eat people. Now she knew if she would express such an idea to Kay he might, no she felt like he would very well tuck tail and run, but...nothing like a nice bite off of a thigh. She sized Kay up. Too thin, too bad. Her smile faded and she spoke.
Jess "Do you like board games, it seems we are playing monopoly."
Kay smiled brightly when the door opened and hinted a small bow as a greeting. "Hey guys. I'm so sorry for not catching up with you, I've been... I don't know, there is not really an excuse, thanks for inviting me over."
He looked at Jess, something about her was different... "Oh, your pigtails are gone", he concluded but he didn't get into that any further because at the mention of board games, his eyes lit up. "Really? I love board games", he exclaimed excitedly.
Were his friends acting strange? Maybe, but he didn't put too much thought into it. "I'm not hungry, actually but thank you", he declined the offer. He was way too excited to eat right now.
"I can help you set up the game." He looked at Poppy, she looked pretty much the same as last time they'd seen each other but when he looked back at Jess... Well, something was different. But it was probably just her hair. "How are you two doing?", he asked because well, both of them had gotten hurt when he had first met them and he felt sorry for it, so the least he could do was ask.
Solemn was not the word he would have used to describe Jess after they had first met, but well. He sat down across from the blonde and looked at her and Poppy. "Okay, well then, let's do this", he agreed and took out the game board.
"But we cannot let monopoly make us hate each other, okay?" He was definetly not good at it but he knew that monopoly had destroyed many, many friendships before. "Oh, and by the way, Jess, you won't have to go swimming in the lake because my sister and I, we are going to build a boat. She met a viking", he explained casually.
He nodded a little more slowly when both of them asked about what he had just said. "She called him a viking but said that he probably isn't one. But once we put him on a boat, he can become a viking", he explained, using his hands to vaguely motion picking up someone and putting them on a boat.
"He must be a viking because Mimi said that he had an octopus and those creatures live in the water, so how could someone who is not a viking get an octopus?"
