We are a AU wizarding school site based very loosely on Harry Potter. We allow only original characters but the houses you may be sorted into are the same. Here we believe that with a little bit of magic and charm anyone can make it as a wizard so why not see what might await you?
Chase lifted the hood of his cloak up over his head and moved through the village, his wand in his right hand as he moved down the snowy path towards hogsmead. He had chosen to stay behind at hogwarts again this christmas season with a very brief trip home to see his family for christmas day and then he was right back, part of this was charlie and wanting to look out and care for him and part of it was he still couldnt stand to be at home. It would sound stupid to some but he had even gone through the effort of digging out a grave for the mare he had so cared for but he couldnt bring himself to stand by it, he would get past it in time but having her only son with him at school made it both harder and easier.
Bracken had been weighing on his mind since he got back and hence he was going in to town, he was going to the pub to get a drink and he was going to calm down and focus a little more. Maybe work on a lesson plan, that was a good idea. That thought in mind, he found himself at the door of the pub so he leaned a shoulder in to it and stepped inside, nodding to the barmaid behind the counter and then walking over to the smallest table in the corner of the room.
Warm? Well warmth rather was the only thought on her mind as she entered and while she should have been paying attention she was not as she plopped down at the table in the corner of the room. As she gently dusted her hands off only then did she look up and take notice that someone was sitting in front of her, or that she had sat down in front of them rather.
she said quietly.
"Trying to get the remnants of cold off of me and not paying attention to what I was doing. Waiting on anyone, if so I can hurry and get along."
Chase settled slowly in to the booth of the table in the darkest corner of the pub, his hands coming to rest on the table as he glanced around. He could make out some of the groups around him and he couldnt help but look, there were a group of men at one table with a round of drinks in the middle of it and some papers each and then a group of girls who were all happily leaning on one and other and gazing at what he assumed was some letter, their drinks forgotten on the edge of their table. A few couples were litters about, chase found himself glancing to one where the male was glancing at the group of girls and their letter and the blond rolled his eyes.
Leaning back in the booth, chase shrugged the cloak of his shoulders and let it drop on to one arm before he curled it up and placed it to his right and moved to stand, planning on beginning on firewhiskey and then behaving himself, when a figure moved in to the chair in front of his table. He blinked a few times in shock and then looked at her a little more closely as she spoke, "I...wel.." he stammered to start before he took a breath and forced himself to focus. "Not at all, just out to clear thoughts and hopefully be productive outside a small space. If you have company i can move somewhere else" he said, rather repeating her words back at her a little.
she said not really looking him directly in the face. It was not because she was ashamed or anything like that but she just had her head elsewhere. That was how the whole thought of any holiday did her and while she was working on getting better at it..the truth was that she failed miserably.
None the less she always prided herself on being polite so she wiped her hand off mostly because she wanted it to be warm and then proceeded to introduce herself a bit more appropriately.
"I am Alyssa, you..you are the new care of magical creatures teacher are you not?"
