We are a AU wizarding school site based very loosely on Harry Potter. We allow only original characters but the houses you may be sorted into are the same. Here we believe that with a little bit of magic and charm anyone can make it as a wizard so why not see what might await you?

Aurora made her way to the library, her bookbag over her shoulder. She had a paper due in a couple days and figured that she should probably get a move on. She usually isn't one to wait last minute to do schoolwork. It had taken her two days to find what she needed for the paper. She looked around, noticing there were other students doing work as well.
She walked around until she found an empty table. She pulled out the chair and placed her bag on the table. She pulled out her school book and fresh parchment. She flipped through her book as she played with her quill in one hand.
Fawn had accidentally fallen behind on his studies. With everything going on he thought that he had a good reason but today was the day that he was actually going to make himself catch up on them regardless of it he liked it or not.
He looked around and spotted a girl sitting at a table where it was just her. That was just about perfect to him. He walked over and after a few minutes spoke, making sure to keep his voice barely above a whisper.
Fawn: Mind if I join you here?
He would wait for her to respond before he just took a seat.

Aurora flipped another page. She had written down a couple of sentences. Her eyes lit up on something she wanted to put in her essay. She was about to write it down when she heard a whisper. She looked up to see an unfamiliar boy standing in front of her table. She smiled at him.
Aurora: I don't mind at all.
She moved some of her things so that he had space. She was normally better organized but since she thought it was just going to be her, she had her things spread around. Once a space was cleared, she waited for him to sit down.
He was glad that she had chosen to be nice. Thankfully so far everyone that he had actually had a conversation with had been the same way but Fawn was not stupid enough to think that it would always be like that.
Fawn : What are you studying?
He figured that was as good of a place as any to start a conversation since he did not want to just sit there in a silence. If she preferred it that way then she could tell him and he would be quiet.

Aurora nodded and smiled again.
Aurora: You're welcome. Aurora Davis. It's nice to meet you.
She wasn't one to be rude to anyone. Her father taught her to have manners and it just came natural to her to be nice. She liked to treat people the way she wanted to be treated. She looked down at her book.
Aurora: Herbology. How about you?
She didn't mind working in silence but she liked making conversation with anyone that she meets. She had some friends in her house but liked talking to new people. Sometimes you learn interesting things.
Herbology was a class that he actually got. He was thankful for that but there was one class that he knew he could and would never get a hold on and that was..
Fawn : Ancient Runes,
Even as he said it he knew that it was a mistake but he did not want to be or get left behind in it. There were times when he knew that he should just give it up but Fawn just could not work like that. He knew he needed a little quiet time and he supposed that she did too.
Fawn : To be honest with you, it's like when I am looking at it I do not get it at all. I hear the words but as for anything actually going on that is making me understand it, well I feel that ship sailed a long time ago.
He did not know why he had been sorted into hufflepuff honestly. It made no sense to him but there it was and he felt that he was struggling more than he should be.
Fawn : I will get it eventually though, I have to as I refuse not to.

Aurora gave him a sympathetic look.
Aurora: It took me a bit to get it myself. My dad had to help me. I think one time I got Ehwaz and Eihwaz confused. The words can be a bit hard. The runes for the numbers are easier, I think.
She pulled out her Ancient Runes book. She opened it to the first chapter. She tried to find something easy. She had the confidence that he would eventually get it. She understood how frustrating it can be.
Aurora: That is a good attitude to have. Did you want to learn some basic runes first?
He thought for a minute and that was when his mother's words dawned on him the most and those were the exact words that he repeated.
Fawn: Basic is best. I feel like it's best to start with that anyway since if I can not concept anything basic then all is lost.
He was in no way a person who looked at everything as bad but in his opinion that was the absolute truth. It was like going from the beginning. As much as you wanted to reach an end or start in a middle, logically it just was not right.
Fawn : So what's a pretty basic spell to attempt in your opinion?
